Yes definately. There should be more TV commercials, then boutiques would sell far more merchandize. Usually people have seen things they want to buy in adverts. In Iceland people don't pay much attention to posters which are often torn down. Some car commercials are ridiculous, it is a waste of time and money showing them on TV. And it is very annoying when watching something entertaining on TV to be interupted by commercials every now and again.

Commercials focused on children do influence the very young. And they start asking their parents for this and that. It is a bad thing to exploit children like this.

And last but not least here is a short comment from one pupil which cannot be denied: Some TV commercials influence some people!

It depends on the commercial itself, if it is entartaining or not. If it is well made, funny and selling an interesting product it does have an impact but if boring and monotonous it doesn't make any difference.

Yes and no. Commercials selling shompoo and soap are nonsence, so many things said in them aren't true. Still some believe everything they are told in TV and buy the products. On the other hand commercials about foodstuffs are mostly true and do influence most people.

Hello everybody

TV commercials do influence people. Some are easily conned because they believe nearly everything they see in TV. They buy things they don't need and think are necessary. Some commercials are just gimmicks, made solely to make money and not in anyway for the benefit of the consumer. It is a sad thing but in some homes the TV controls the life of the owners.

Yes they do, for example the shocking new smoking warning. There you could see damaged organs cut asunder. After seeing this many stopped smoking.

They have strong influence on people, they are swept away by some special deals, when there is a sale somewhere. Among things people buy after seeing a TV commercial are tooth cleaning products, vacations and household cleaning products. Car commercials on the other hand do not make an impact on people as they buy a car only when they need one.
