The 17th of May, National Day of Norway

In Alvdal people gather in front of the church and march to the Old folks home, where students of the 9th grade makes a speech, also the chairman of the 17th of May Committee holds a speech. The choirs sing some National songs before we march on.

After the parade we gather at the local community halls to sing song, new speeches, this time from the grade 7 students. The younger children also sing some songs, before we have coffee and ice cream. Afterwards there are different activities for the children outside.

Later we go home, if the weather allows it, some have a barbeque or goes to a restaurant for dinner.
