The 17th of May, National Day of Norway |

|
In many countries the national day is day of military parades, or a day for the politicians. In other countries they don't celebrate it at all. In Norway, all the children are the main people in the celebration. Also it is in the spring. In Norway May is the months were the leaves of the trees are coming, flowers are coming up, and the birds have come back from warmer countries. All this makes the 17th of May to what it is, a day of joy for the children, a day for older people to remember the harder times, and see the future of the nation be happy. The pictures are taken by Per Agnar Sørhus, more of his pictures from 17th of May last year can be seen at |
