Puka Secondary School presents their village

We live in the south. Puka is a small village in Valgamaa. Valgamaa is one of the 15 counties of Estonia.
The biggest town in the area is Valga, the centre of our region. Valga is situated on the border between Estonia and Latvia. It used to be a twin town but since Estonia and Latvia became independent, half of the town is Estonian, the other half – Latvian.

Our village is not big. We have a school, railway station, chemist’s, some shops, post office, kindergarten, public library and community centre here. The population of Puka is about 1,500 people. Most of them live in private houses with big gardens. The rest of the people live in apartment houses.
